WASHINGTON, Nov 3 : Americans is to vote on Tuesday in one of the most consequential elections in recent times, widely seen as a referendum on Donald Trump’s presidency that has been marked by a prolonged war in Iran, rising inflation, trade wars and deep divisions in society.

The polling will decide whether President Trump’s Republican Party retains control of the House of Representatives and the Senate, the two chambers of the US Congress, or, as opinion polls are predicting, the Democratic Party wrests control of at least the House if not the Senate, also in the final two years of Trump’s second term in office.
At stake in the elections are all 435 seats of the House and 37 seats in the 100-member Senate. ( PTI )
