Varmul Gindo-2025: Finals of key matches witness massive turnout

The mega sporting event- Varmul Gindo-2025 on Monday reached a thrilling high with the finals of Volleyball, Kabaddi, and Karate held at the Prof. Showkat Ali Indoor Stadium.

The event drew an impressive crowd of over 1,000 spectators, reflecting the festival’s increasing resonance within the community.

In the Volleyball finals, Amargarh Volleyball Club clinched the boys’ title after a competitive face-off against Uri Volleyball Club.

Also KIC Srinagar edged past KIC Baramulla to win the girls’ championship.

Each match featured 28 skilled players, who displayed exemplary athleticism and team spirit.

The Senior Men’s Kabaddi final was equally gripping, as Harmukh Warriors defeated United North Kashmir in a high-energy contest involving 24 participants.

Karate enthusiasts also witnessed intense action with 16 matches and 25 participating athletes.

A football match between Hyder FC and Dash FC kicked off at 5:30 PM at Prof Showkat Ali Stadium which featured 24 players and drew an initial crowd of nearly 200, which continued to swell as the game progressed.

Commander 19 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier Rajat Mohan Bhatt was the Chief Guest at the occasion while Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Altaf Ahmed, Vice Principal GDC Baramulla Prof. Tariq Ahmad Chalkoo and District Youth Services and Sports (YSS) Officer Zahoor Ahmed Wani were also present at the occasion.

The day witnessed the participation of 184 athletes and an audience strength exceeding 1,250, underscoring the festival’s success in fostering sportsmanship and strengthening community bonds across Baramulla.
