A meeting of the officers of Cluster University Srinagar and Principals of constituent colleges was convened, here the other day, under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor, to devise an Action Plan in the backdrop of COVID-19 scare and advisories issued by various Government Agencies.

After threadbare deliberations, it was unanimously resolved that all the University employees will contribute one-day salary for the month of April toward the relief fund of the Lt. Governor meant to fight against the scourge of COVID-19.

It was also decided that University will provide volunteers to the district administration for managing quarantine centres and other places designated for COVID-19.

Pertinently, the NSS volunteers of the constituent colleges have already been deployed and are creating awareness regarding safety measures that need to be adopted against the spread of COVID-19. The volunteers are distributing masks and sanitizers in the different areas of the valley.

The meeting also decided that University will procure 10000 masks and 5000 sanitizers for distribution among the masses besides, manufacturing sanitizers and face masks in its own laboratories for students, as and when the university re-opens.

Discussing the admission process for the session 2020 for IG, UG and professional courses, it was decided that the process will be completed by developing an “Online Module” and all efforts will be made to complete it by the end of the current month.

Principals of the Colleges informed that online lectures are being offered by teachers through Google Classroom and other virtual platforms for all enrolled students.

The meeting also decided to defer semester examinations for II and IV-semesters which were scheduled for April. The principals of the constituent colleges have been informed to conduct the Google class rooms for next preceding III and V semesters.

The principals informed that the syllabus for the 6th semester is nearing completion and efforts are being made to expedite the process so that examinations can be conducted as and when conducive.

It was also decided that the students will be encouraged to earn credits from MOOC modules offered by MHRD, Government of India and the list of relevant courses will be made available on the University website.
Sensitization of the students through introduction of Skill based courses on “Basic Hygiene amid Corona virus” was also endorsed.
