Vehicle crushes elderly man to death at Hawal, case filed

Srinagar, May 31 : An elderly man was crushed to death by a police vehicle in Srinagar’s Hawal area on Friday afternoon while a case has been registered against the driver and investigation has been taken up, officials said.

An official told that an elderly man was hit by the vehicle when he was crossing the road at Hawal Chowk, following which he was taken to a nearby hospital.

He said that he was, however, declared dead on arrival. The deceased has been identified as Abdul Salam (65) of Hawal.

The official said that a case under FIR number 11/2024 has been registered against the driver and investigation has been taken up
