Vice President of JKAACL mourns Prof. Shad’s death

Srinagar, August, 06, 2017:
Vice President of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Zafar
Iqbal Manhas on Sunday condoled the demise of noted historian, poet
and writer, Prof. Ghulam Mohammad Shad, saying in his death, the State
has lost a foremost scholar.
“Pained by his demise”, Manhas said, adding in his death the State has
lost a prominent historian and a foremost scholar on its history and
culture.
Recalling his association with the erudite professor, the JKAACL Vice
President said that Prof. Shad will always be remembered for his
valuable contribution to enrichment of Valley’s literature.
Manhas also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family members
of the deceased and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
It may be recalled that 78-year-old Prof. Shad died at Soura hospital
here this morning following brief illness.
