Vinay’s father, the late Shi Kashi Nath Raina, was the third son among five brothers, all offspring of the esteemed Shiv Jee Raina. The family was distinguished, with many members serving in defense services and some in the education sector. However, amidst the disciplined and scholarly pursuits of his kin, Vinay alone nurtured a fervent love for the performing arts from a tender age.
