Virtual Meeting of Gayoor Foundation -J&K held at Srinagar.

Srinagar 25th Jan.2024 : A virtual meeting of the Executive Council (J&K) of the Gayoor Foundation was held at Srinagar under the chairmanship of Er Syed Showkat Gayoor Andrabi, Chairman of the Foundation with regard to Sout-i-Kashmir Syed Ghulam Rasool Gayoor to be Remembered in Jammu

The meeting finalized plans for observing Gayoor Day, which will be held on 15th February 2025 in Jammu. The event will feature a Gayoor Memorial Lecture titled “Reconciliation Between Two Communities: Kashmiri Muslims and Kashmiri Pandits”.

It is in place to mention here that the Foundation has been organizing such events in Jammu for several years to bridge the gap between the Pandit Bharadari and the Muslim community of Kashmir. The aim is to reconnect with the Pandit community, who have been away from Kashmir for the past 35 years, and pave the way for their return.

Meanwhile the Foundation will confer two awards during the event. One award will be presented to a Kashmiri Pandit for their notable contributions in the society. The second award will be given to an Executive Member of the Foundation as per the norms of the foundation. A Selection Committee has already been constituted to finalize the awardees in this behalf.  The Jammu Chapter of the Gayoor Foundation will play a pivotal role in organizing the event.

At the end of the meeting it has been reiterated that the Gayoor Foundation remains committed to its mission of fostering peace, unity, and mutual respect among all communities in Kashmir. The meeting was attended by the both Vice Chairmen Dr Rattan Lal Talashi Ji & Shabir Ahmad Shah , General Secretary Vijay Wali , Sports incharge Syed Lateef Saifullah Andrabi,  Secretary Dolly Tiku Arrwal & others as well.
