New Delhi, January 20, 2025: Prominent artist, cultural activist, and Chairman of The Kashmir Music Club Srinagar, Waheed Jeelani, held a significant meeting with Dr. Fareed Asr, Cultural Counsellor of Iran to India, in New Delhi today. Diplomatic interpreter Mr. Mehdi was also present during the discussions.

The meeting focused on fostering Indo-Iran cultural collaboration, with a special emphasis on the rich shared heritage of Sufi music and the preservation of cultural traditions. Both sides explored avenues to enhance artistic exchanges between Iran and Jammu & Kashmir, aiming to deepen mutual understanding through cultural diplomacy.
Dr. Asr lauded Waheed Jeelani’s unwavering efforts in promoting Kashmiri art and culture on the global stage, acknowledging his role in preserving the region’s rich heritage. He expressed keen interest in strengthening cultural partnerships that celebrate the long-standing cultural affinity between Iran and Kashmir.
