Srinagar, Jan 01: Jammu & Kashmir Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Sunday made it clear that supporting former Member of Parliament, Muzaffar Hussain Baig, in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Baramulla is out of the question.

Responding to inquiries regarding potential support for Baig in the polls, Bukhari reiterated his stance, stating his refusal to endorse any candidate outside his party

During the 2019 LS elections, Baig, along with his wife Safina Baig and nephew Javed Baig, were associated with PDP, securing modest votes in Baramulla and Sangrama, constituencies nurtured by the Baig family.

Baig parted ways with PDP in November 2020 due to disagreements over seat-sharing arrangements in the district development council polls. Subsequently, he joined Peoples Conference, but the party distanced itself from him shortly after.

In response to Bukhari’s statement, Safina Baig, Wife of Muzaffar Baig who’s is also the Chairperson of J&K Hajj Committee and President of JKPC Women Wing, took to social media platform X to express her views

“As per some social media reports, a political leader has stated that he’ll not support Muzaffar Baig in Lok Sabha elections. Wonder, why someone would presume so much. Experienced individuals in politics usually refrain from making presumptions or conjuring events. May Allah guide them!” Safina Baig’s post read.
