We served food packets to the needy who are deprived of basic amenities: Showkat Mir
Jammu and Kashmir We Care Foundation, a social welfare trust, on Thursday distributed hundreds of food packets to the needy and underprivileged poor sections of the society at Zadibal, Srinagar.In a statement issued to the press, We Care Foundation Chairman Showkat Mir said the economic conditions of numerous families across Kashmir division have worsened due to pandemic and thus as responsible members of the society such initiatives are need of the hour.
“This is humble endeavour has been taken to ensure that people facing tough times remain atleast able to provide two times meal to their families. These grocery kits will help them to bear a months expenditure and with the support of like minded people, we shall keep on doing this noble work,” Mir remarked.Besides, Foundation’s General Secretary Arshad Mir, Journalist & Social Activist Azhar Hussain, Imtiyaz, Inyat and others were also present on this occasion.
“There exist a large number of families who live below poverty line and expect their fellow members in the society will come to their rescue. There is no nobler work than providing food to the individuals who have nothing to eat. We have also pledged to eradicate hunger apart from various other areas of thrust of this organisation. We shall continue to carry out similar programs in impending future and also appeal to the our fellow humans to support the cause of this trust,” Arshad Mir said.The beneficiaries thanked We Care Foundation Trust affiliates for their humanistic works and hoped their other matters will also be resolved in the future.
