As a weak Western Disturbance (WD) affected Jammu & Kashmir, a few areas in the higher reaches received fresh snowfall while the rains lashed plains of the valley on Wednesday. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Gurez in north Kashmir’s Bandipora area and its adjacent places received fresh snowfall today.

The rains however, lashed plains of Kashmir including the summer capital of J&K, Srinagar in the later afternoon hours, bringing down the mercury here. Against yesterday’s 214 degree Celsius, the maximum temperature in Srinagar settled at 17.1 degree Celsius today, the officials in the Meteorological department (MeT) said.
