Weather Alert for Dec 17-19 : MeT Predicts Light Snow in Kashmir’s Higher Reaches

Srinagar, Dec 17: A winter chill has gripped Jammu and Kashmir, with the Meteorological Department forecasting snow and fog in various parts of the region over the next few days.

According to the MeT, the higher reaches of North and Central Kashmir may experience light snow on December 17-19, while the 20-21st Dec period is expected to bring light to moderate snow over Kashmir division and light rain in the plains of J&K.

The forecast warns of slippery road conditions due to snow and sub-freezing temperatures, advising travelers and transporters to follow traffic and administrative advisories, especially on the 20th late night and 21st morning.

From 23 Dec to 29th of December, MeT Predicted Cloudy weather and from 30 to 31st December, The MeT forecasts Generally Cloudy weather with possibility of light Snow at isolated higher reaches of North & Central Kashmir.

Residents are also cautioned about shallow to moderate fog in Kashmir Division and isolated areas of Jammu division.
