Srinagar, December 18 : The Meteorological Centre Srinagar today issued a weather update for Jammu and Kashmir, warning of snow and rain in the coming days.

According to the forecast, the higher reaches of North and Central Kashmir may experience very light snow on December 18-19, with generally cloudy skies dominating the region.

The weather is expected to take a turn from December 20-21, with light to moderate snow predicted over higher reaches of Kashmir division and light to moderate rain at many places in the plains of Jammu and Kashmir.

The 22nd of December may bring scattered light rain and snow, while the skies are expected to remain partly to generally cloudy from December 23-29.

As the month-end approaches, the higher reaches may experience light snow on December 30-31.

The Meteorological Centre has issued an advisory, warning of moderate to heavy snowfall in some higher reaches of Kupwara, Bandipora, and Ganderbal on December 21.

Travellers and transporters are advised to plan accordingly and follow traffic and administrative advisories.
