The local Meteorological Department on Saturday predicted light to moderate snowfall in Kashmir and Ladakh on December 4 and 5.

A meteorological department official told that the probability of snowfall is more than 50% adding that mainly dry weather is expected in Kashmir and Ladakh till December 3 while weather will be mainly clear to partly cloudy in most parts of Jammu region .

Amid an overnight cloud cover in Kashmir and Ladakh, freezing cold conditions eased a bit with Srinagar recording a minimum temperature of 0.4°C on Saturday.

The mercury in Srinagar settled at 0.4°C against previous night’s minus 1.3°C. On November 23, the mercury settled at minus 2.3°C which is lowest temperature recorded so far this season.
