For the overall development of any nation, it is essential to have a better educational system. A standard educational system is the foundation of a civilized and healthy society. That’s why developed countries work day and night to improve their education system to tackle contemporary challenges. The light of knowledge can eliminate all kinds of darkness.

To bring about an educational revolution in Jammu and Kashmir, thousands of private educational institutions have been working tirelessly for decades. For the past thirty years, private educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir have been working diligently to shape the future of the younger generation.

Whether it’s about increasing literacy rates or making the nation’s future brighter, private institutions are bringing about a comprehensive change in the education sector. The annual examination results of these institutions are a testament to their hard work.

The private educational institutions have created a better educational environment in the valley, and the children of Kashmir are excelling in various fields. They are topping in medical, engineering, and other professional courses.

On one hand, private educational institutions are being targeted, and on the other hand, the daily orders are pushing these institutions to the brink of collapse. More than 400 institutions are on the verge of closure.

Recently, an order was issued stating that students from class 1 to 12 will have to study books published by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education, and no other publications will be allowed. Is there any civilized nation where students are forced to study specific books?

Why did the Jammu and Kashmir Board issue this order, and what’s the motive behind it? The world is adopting international curricula like Cambridge and Oxford to provide quality education, but here, the opposite is happening.

Do the books published by the Jammu and Kashmir Board match the standards of international publications? No. Then why this order? On one hand, there’s talk of implementing the new education policy, and on the other hand, the same old books and curriculum are being forced upon the students.

The condition of private educational institutions is deteriorating due to the daily orders and restrictions. How can these institutions function, and how can the education system be improved? It’s time for the intellectuals and thinkers to come forward and make the government aware of the ground reality.”
