Srinagar, July 27: World IVF Day 2026 was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Srinagar as the Indian Fertility Society (IFS), in collaboration with MED AGE IVF Centre, organised a high-profile scientific programme that brought together leading fertility specialists, gynaecologists, embryologists and healthcare professionals from across Jammu & Kashmir.
The event marked a significant milestone in promoting excellence in reproductive medicine and advancing fertility care in the region.
The programme featured distinguished international faculty, Prof. Denny Sakkas (USA) and Dr. David Mortimer (Canada), both globally recognised pioneers in reproductive medicine and clinical embryology. They delivered insightful lectures on the latest scientific advances, emerging technologies and evidence-based practices in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), highlighting innovative strategies to improve IVF success rates and optimise patient outcomes.
One of the major attractions of the event was an engaging panel discussion titled “IUI vs IVF – Where to Draw the Line?” jointly moderated by IFS National Convenor and Managing Director, MED AGE IVF Centre, Dr. Syed Sajjad Hussain, and eminent gynaecologist Prof. Dr. Mehmooda Hamid Wani. The discussion focused on selecting the most appropriate fertility treatment based on individual patient characteristics, infertility factors and current scientific evidence, while emphasising the importance of personalised, ethical and patient-centred care.
The scientific programme witnessed an overwhelming response, with participation from a large number of gynaecologists, infertility specialists, embryologists and medical professionals from across the Union Territory. The event provided an excellent platform for academic exchange, professional networking and continuing medical education, reaffirming the growing importance of reproductive medicine in Jammu & Kashmir.
