IQbal FC Pips Hashmee FC by 2-1

Wullar Gold Cup 2020 was kicked off at Wullar Sports Ground in Laharwalpora area of Bandipora District here on Tuesday. The event is being organized by Bandipora Football Community in Collaboration with National and international Football Forum J&K. In the Inaugral match Iqbal FC Bandipora defeated Hashmee FC by 2-1. From Iqbal FC, Prolific striker Iqbal dar, midfielder burhan Basit scored 1 each goal and From Hashmee FC, Striker Arish Ahmad scored only goal of the Match. From Iqbal FC Iqbal dar scored first goal in the 12th minute & minutes after, Arish scored an equaliser from Hashmee FC in the 20th minute of the match. It was Basit from Iqbal FC, who Scores 2nd goal of the play from Iqbal FC.

Though Hashmee FC in the second half made several moves to reduce the goal deficit but failed to convert into goals. When the final whistle blew the final scoreline didn’t alter 2-1 in favour of Hashmee FC. Meanwhile Hundreds of people and sports lovers from Nook and corner of area witnessed the match. The Tournament is being organized by Bandipora Football Community. The match was officially by Azhar Ali, Rayees Ahmad and Rayees Ahmad

As per Organizers of the Tournament Tahir beigh and Azhar Ali, they said that as many as 24 teams from across the district will be participating in the tourney. Sports lovers from Nook and corner of Laharwalpora appreciated the efforts of the Organization for conducting the tournament in far off area like Laharwalpora.

While Speaking on the occasion, Eminent Footballers Tahir Beigh and Azhar Ali said that there is very much talent among the Youths of the valley, they only need to be trained from the grass root level. The participants are looking forward to play in the upcoming tournament. Many football players who have represented the state in the National School Games are also going to be a part of it.

International Footballer Ishfaq Ahmad was the chief guest on the occasion, who interacted with players of both the teams and tested his soccer skills to inaugurate the inaugural match. He was accompanied by Sajid Yousuf Dar, Former Indian Womens’ Football team Coach, AFC Pro Licenses Coach of J&K Hilal Rasool Parray, Former Pune FC Manager Salman Mir, JK Bank Academy Coach Manzoor Ahmad, Former JK Bank Chairman, Abdul Banday, Indian Under-14 Physio Dr Burhan Ahmad AFC C Licenses Coach from Ganderbal Muzamil Mohammad as the guests of honour.The chief guest Ishafaq Ahmad encouraged the players and advised them to play with sporting spirit and always preserve sanctity of sports and games.
