A young Kashmiri journalist died of cardiac arrest on Thursday afternoon while on his way to Srinagar from his residence to attend his office.

Family sources told news agency that the journalist Javid Ahmad left his home in Watergam, Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district to attend his office in Srinagar on Thursday morning however when he reached near Pattan township, he suddenly developed chest pain and fell unconscious.

He was immediately rushed to nearby medical facility where doctors declared him brought dead, disclosing that the death is as a result of massive heart attack.

Javid was an accredited journalist, working with Srinagar based English daily newspaper Rising Kashmir as a correspondent.

The sudden and untimely death of an able and young journalist is widely being mourned and various media and social organizations have expressed their shock and grief on his death. (KDC)
