A youth, who was missing from last evening, was on Saturday morning found dead in Lathunge village of Surankote area in Poonch district.

Officials told the news agency—that a youth identified as Zahid Khan, son of Said Muhammad of Bandichachain Poonch had gone to Lathunge village of Surankote to attend a marriage function yesterday.

“The youth had gone missing from the area last evening. However, the youth was found dead today morning,” they said.

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased youth later staged a protest alleging that their beloved was murdered.

The family later blocked the Srinagar-Jammu highway to demand action against the involved persons.

Later, police reached the spot and pacified the protesters. Officials said that an investigation in this regard has been taken up—(KNO)
