A missing youth was found hanging from a tree in a forest in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday, police said.
An official said that the body of the deceased, identified as Asif Ahmad Pir, 25 of Arambagh Halmatpora was found hanging from a walnut tree in a forest which is few meters from his home.
The body of the deceased has been sent for post mortem, police said.
“The mobile phone of the deceased has been recovered. We will ascertain the call details,” Shamsher Hussian, senior Superintendent of police Kupwara told .
“We are looking into various angles to ascertain if his death is a case of suicide or a murder. The exact cause of his death can be ascertained only after the post-mortem report is available,”
