Zainab Mushtaq saying that “I’m glad to be the gold medalist in international Wu Shu and cick boxing to represent my kashmir as well as tangmarg now further I want to be the dynamic even being a girl to go ahead so that I could be the inspiration for many young girls. My father is my mentor, guide and inspiration she said.
World is full of high profile people who have achieved a very high dignity in many fields because of their talent, ability or dedicated nature zainab Mushtaq international Wu Shu and kick boxing player from Tangmarg is one among them who has impressed and inspired hundred of students through her un paralleled achievement in Wu Shu and kick boxing in just ten years of her age. She belong to north Kashmir’s Baramulla district’s Kilwara village she study in 6th class at Hanfia Model High School Chandilora Tangmarg.
She belong to a middle class family her father is a ski player also and her mother is a house wife. Few years before in 2014 she joined Wu Shu academy chandilora tangmarg where she started learning martial art from an international player and many time gold medalist Jabeena Akhter who is the secretary of Wu Shu association at present. Under the supervision of jabeena in Wu Shu academy chandilora she started learning Wu Shu as part time class for self defense purposes but with the passage of time it became her passion and she began to work heard to go for national and international championships as well. Ultimately in 2019 she played her first international in Delhi vs turkey and got bronze medal then in 2020 she played with Tajikistan and achieved her first gold medal. While talking to Kashmir pen interviewer Tousif Raza she said “I’m glad to be the gold medalist to represent my kashmir as well as tangmarg now further I want to be the dynamic even being a girl to go ahead so that I could be the inspiration for many young girls. My father is my mentor, guide and inspiration she said”.
Kashmir pen :: Who supported you how much hurdles you faced..?
Zainab :: There could be hurdle in playing such games especially girls if there is no parental support, I’m thankful to my loving father who inspired me time to time to go ahead, to shine and to enlighten his name my mother even supported me helped me to rise and shine as a player of Wu Shu and cick boxing
Kashmir pen : Tell us about your family how they supported you..?
Zainab : I belong to a middle class family but my father Mushtaq Ahmad magray is also fond of sport and my mother is a full stand and support besides me to encourage me every time I’m glad to say that my family is my guide. They supported me by every dimension.
Kashmir pen :: How Wu Shu academy chandilora was helpful for you..?
Zainab : The teachers their in academy are dedicated and passionate about to help and teach the student everytime. They provided me platform and guidelines to play in a dedicated way teachers especially Jabeena Akhter supported and encouraged me helped me to overcome my weak areas and provide me tools for playing.
Kashmir pen :: What is your message to new players
Zainab : It is only a game but a tool to stay witty as well as healthy. It is not a sport only but a way out to many social problems like inferiority complex, suicide and drug addiction so I request parents to involve their children in these games and sport to design a healthy and happy society.
