Zonal Education Officer Uri on Wednesday directed private educational institutions falling within Education Zone Uri to follow guidelines issued by government vis-à-vis the timing of respective institutions.

“It has been observed and known that the private schools in Uri zone have framed the school timing on their own will and there is no uniform timing with government schools, so in this regard all are advised and directed to follow the guidelines issued by Government regarding the timing of institution”, reads a circular issued by ZEO Uri.

“Defaulters if any, will be responsible for the consequences and face action from department”, it reads further.

It is pertinent to mention that parents from remote areas of Uri have complained that some private schools in Uri have set school timings arbitrarily, an act, which they say comes in sharp contrast with government guidelines and at the same time causing inconvenience to the students and their parents alike.
