Srinagar, Jan 2 : At least nine fire incidents were reported from different parts of the Kashmir division during the last 24 hours, prompting swift response from the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES), Kashmir Division.
Fire service personnel responded promptly to all the incidents, successfully controlling the blazes and preventing major loss of life and property, details shared by F&ES as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC stated.
According to details, a forest fire involving about 20 Kail trees broke out in Sarasyar area of Chadoora in Budgam district. In Bandipora’s Check Mohalla, Mukdamyari Hajin, a single-storey residential house along with a GCI tin shed was damaged in a fire incident.
In Srinagar’s Rajbagh area near Modern Hospital, one room of a four-storeyed hotel building Hotel Lavinder was affected by fire. Another incident was reported from Khanyar near Dastgeer Sahib, where a butcher shop caught fire.
In Anantnag district, a Chinar tree was involved in a fire at Magam Adlash, Singutwara, while a three-storeyed residential house at New Colony, Hazratbal, Janglatmandi suffered damage due to a fire caused by Hamam leakage.
In Sopore, a big Chinar tree caught fire at Sello, while in Garkoot area of Uri (Sopore sector), a four-storeyed residential house was damaged due to an LPG leakage-triggered blaze.
Another residential fire incident was reported from Gulab Colony, SD Colony, Sector-D, Batamaloo in Srinagar, where a three-storeyed house suffered damage to its second floor and attic portion.
Fire and Emergency Services officials said all incidents were brought under control in time. The department has advised the general public to strictly follow fire safety norms, ensure proper electrical and LPG installations, and immediately report any fire emergency to the Fire Control Room.
