The females in Jammu and Kashmir are proving their mettle in every field and are leading from the front. They don’t want to look back, as they are out to conquer the world. Kashmiri girl Shumaila was selected for a PhD in “Interpretation of the Holy Quran” and another, Rayeesa, “Islamic Family Jurisprudence.”
The ambidextrous actor, poet , scriptwriter and famous comedian of Central Kashmir Budgam Nazir Ahmad Josh’s daughter Miss Shumaila Zainab and another renowned Cleric of Ahmadpora Magam Agha Syed Tanveee Rizvi’s Wife Miss Rayeesa Akhtar cracked the prestigious examination held here at Jamia Al-Mustafa International Universities Qom for Doctorate PHD. It is first time that, Shumaila and Rayeesa , two kashmiri girls have touched such a great height in higher education in Iranian seminary. Both students belong to Seminary college, Jamia Bintul-Huda of Jamai Al-Mustafa University.
In a message, both Kashmiri Scholars reiterated that we belong to Kashmir and have put ourselves at the disposal of our women folk for any sort of educational guidance and help. Added that we went through a series of tests before we were declared qualified to pursue PhD. Both observed that kashmiri girls should choose seminary education because the comprehensiveness of the teachings of this section with the lessons of Arabic literature, Quran and Hadith, religious beliefs of Islam rulings, jurisprudence and principles, Islamic ethics and education, history of Islam and the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), logic and philosophy, issues of women and family in Islam as well as methods and skills; It is clear, like the preaching method, the research method and the teaching method that form the main foundations of seminary education.
“I am really thankful to my husband and teachers who always stood by my side. In Kashmir, husbands force their wives to pursue studies according to their taste, but to me that is not right,” said Rayeesa Akhtar.
While contacting him, a known sociopolitical activist, Syed Karar Hashmi, studying at Jamia Al-Mustafa International University said that after the glorious Islamic revolution in Iran, women’s interest in seminary education increased significantly. It should be noted that the clergy and seminaries enjoy high status among the people. It should be assessed that the strengthening of religious beliefs and the dissemination of Islamic culture and ethics among the people depends solely on them. Congratulations to both our sisters, Shumaila Zainab and Rayeesa Akhtar, on qualifying for the prestigious Doctorate examination. Added just I saw their names on the selection list , I congratulated Brother Tanveer Rizvi over the phone and others.
“I am looking forward to other girls across Kashmir to study here at Qom and would be happy to guide students as and when approached. I didn’t get enough time for preparations because my husband was ill and, thanks to Allah, I still crack it well. Said Shumaila Zainab
