Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) vice chairman, Advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt on Monday said Advocate Jalil ul Qadr Andrabi was among the pioneers of the present struggle who was ‘romantically’ involved with freedom struggle.
“Besides being a successful jurist and a great intellectual, he was a courageous person who always cared and worked for the betterment of society and even sacrificed his life for the sacred cause,’ Butt according to the statement issued to said, while addressing a condolence meeting held in remembrance of Ishfaq Majeed Wani, Shabir Ahmad Sideequi, Doctor Abdul Ahad Guru and Advocate Jalil ul Qadar Andrabi.
While recalling the struggle and sacrifices of Advocate Jalil Andrabi, JKLF vice chairman said, “The struggle and sacrifice given by this brother of ours has honored this nation and we can never forget his courage, passion and sacrifices for the freedom struggle of Jammu Kashmir.”
Butt said that after receiving threats Jalil was advised to stay away from Kashmir but he refused to do so and courageously continued his struggle and sacrificed his life for the sacred cause.
He said, “The nation of Kashmir has sacrificed lot for freedom but we need to show resilience, one face approach, dedication and steadfastness.”
Butt said this approach will surely lead us to success and freedom.
While terming the elections as ‘detrimental to sacred cause of Kashmiris’, Butt said, “As a nation, we are duty bound to safeguard our sacrifices and continue the struggle for freedom that has been nourished by the sacred blood of our martyrs like Shaheed I Insaaf, refrain away from participating in Indian elections that are detrimental to our cause and remain steadfast in the way of resistance.”
Meanwhile, the JKLF spokesman said that various congregational prayer meetings were held across valley today in connection with the anniversary of Advocate Indrabi.
He said that Quran Khawani was held at JKLF headquarter and other JKLF district offices in this connection.
JKLF leaders, activists and admirers of martyrs in large numbers participated in the prayers meetings.
Meanwhile, JKLF has paid rich tributes to two slain militants who were killed in an encounter on Sunday at Padgampora village of Awantipora.
JKLF said, “These young martyrs, who are being pushed to wall by state sponsored oppression, are rendering sacrifices for the freedom of their mother land and writing down a glorious page of our history.”
JKLF prays for the two slain militants and expressed solidarity with their families.
