Buoyed by the support of Jammu and Kashmir government, Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) on Saturday said that the current convention being held in valley will promote “visibility” of the region on global tourism map.
In a press conference, TAAI President Sunil Kumar who was flanked by tourism minister Tasaduq Mufti expressed confidence that the conference will boost tourism in Kashmir.
“…We are very confident on behalf of TAAI that once you see this convention concludes successfully the visibility of Kashmir as tourism destination will multiply many times and this would result in more tourists coming to Kashmir,” said Kumar.
Kumar said the speakers participating in the convention will chalk out a strategy and will brainstorm ideas to bring Kashmir on the global tourism map.
Terming convention as “historic”, Mufti said “fine” ideas have been floated in the discussions held so far in the convention. He also expressed hope to have a long partnership to boost Kashmir tourism.
“I think in many ways this conference is a historic event. We couldn’t have gone to a better start to a year…. Already some very fine ideas have started flowing. So I do look forward to a long and enduring partnership with TAAI,” said Mufti.
