Leaving to Srinagar to chair urgent meeting
Srinagar, April 22(KB): Union Home Minister Amit Shah has strongly condemned the terror attack on tourists in the scenic region of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), as per news agency Kashmir Bulletin Shah expressed deep anguish over the incident, saying, “Anguished by the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. My thoughts are with the family members of the deceased.”
He further assured that the perpetrators of the “dastardly act of terror” will not be spared. “We will come down heavily on the perpetrators with the harshest consequences,” he stated.
Shah revealed that he has briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the incident and has already held a virtual meeting with concerned officials to assess the situation.
In a swift response to the attack, the Home Minister announced that he will be leaving for Srinagar shortly to chair an urgent security review meeting with all security and intelligence agencies.
The attack, which has sparked outrage and concern across the country, has once again drawn attention to the fragile security situation in the Union Territory.
Security forces have been put on high alert, and a massive manhunt is underway to trace those responsible for targeting innocent tourists.
