Srinagar, July 26: Awami National Conference (ANC) Vice President Muzaffar Shah has issued a strong statement questioning the rising number of killings of tribal youth across Jammu and Kashmir, urging the Lieutenant Governor to take immediate action.

“Your Excellency — why are our youth from the tribal community repeatedly getting killed from Qazigund to Kathua, Shopian, Poonch, Rajouri, Kulgam, and now the latest in Jammu — especially when law and order is under your direct control?” Shah asked in a public appeal to the LG.

Highlighting growing public anger and anguish, Shah called for the immediate constitution of a Judicial Commission headed by a sitting judge to investigate each incident involving security forces. “People demand the truth. Each killing must be thoroughly probed,” he emphasized.

Urging the administration to “rise to the occasion,” the ANC leader said that only transparency and accountability can restore trust and ensure justice for the victims and their families.
