Bandipora, Jan 23 : Bandipora Police provided timely assistance to motorists and commuters stranded across the district as strong gusty winds on Thursday night, followed by snowfall on Friday, disrupted normal movement, officials said.

Adverse weather, including slippery roads and poor visibility, led to several vehicles getting stuck at various locations. Police teams remained deployed throughout the night to assist affected commuters and ensure their safety.

Officials said personnel helped drivers navigate treacherous stretches, cleared minor obstructions caused by snowfall, and ensured smooth passage of vehicles.

Their proactive presence, they said, played a key role in preventing accidents and reducing hardship during the severe weather spell.

Residents appreciated the police response, describing it as a “true helping hand.” An officer said, “We are always prepared to extend every possible assistance to the public. Serving and protecting people, especially during emergencies and harsh weather, remains our top priority.”

It said the efforts reinforced public trust and highlighted the police’s commitment to humanitarian service beyond routine law enforcement duties.(KNS).
