The BSF chief also visited Border Outposts and witnessed the operational preparedness of field formations in the Samba-Kathua sector and Sunderbani sector on his two-day visit to the Jammu frontier commenced on August 21.

Chawdhary, a 1990-batch Uttar Pradesh cadre officer who was recently given the additional charge of the border guarding force, also interacted with the BSF Sector commander and Battalion commanders on border management aspects.

The BSF chief was further apprised about all critical aspects of border security and domination, including the prevailing security scenario along the IB in Jammu.

Earlier on Thursday, the DG addressed ‘Sainik Sammelan’ at the frontier headquarters and praised the troops for their dedication towards border duties and told them to maintain effective border domination to prevent anti-national activities.

Soon after taking over the additional charge of the BSF, Chawdhary made an important visit to the India-Bangladesh border in North 24 Parganas district and the Sunderbans area of West Bengal. The purpose of this visit was to review the operational preparedness and strategic deployment of BSF in the border areas considering the changed situation in the neighbouring country.

The visit of the Jammu frontier of DG BSF highlights the dedication and vigilance of BSF in safeguarding India’s borders, and ensuring peace and security in the region. (ANI)
