The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Sunday conducted coordinated search operations across several districts of the Valley, officials said.
Officials told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the surprise searches were carried out in Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama, Hardshoora Tangmarg (Baramulla) and a few areas in north Kashmir, based on credible intelligence inputs regarding suspicious activities and possible security threats.
Teams from CIK, assisted by local police and other security agencies, carried out simultaneous raids, checking multiple residential and commercial premises.
“During the searches, digital gadgets including smartphones, laptops, pen drives, and some documents were seized for technical and forensic examination,” the officials said.
Sources further informed KNS that a few suspected individuals have been detained from Hardshoora Tangmarg and Pulwama for questioning to verify their possible involvement in the matter. However, there has been no official confirmation of formal arrests so far.
“The operation is preventive in nature and is part of ongoing efforts to ensure that anti-national networks do not regroup or operate in these areas,” an official added.
