The Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday unveiled the Handicrafts and Handloom Department’s Calendar 2026,a visual tribute celebrating the timeless craft traditions of Jammu and Kashmir..

The calendar beautifully encapsulates the essence of the Valley’s artistic heritage, highlighting the skill, dedication and commitment of the region’s artisans — the true custodians of Kashmir’s cultural legacy.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, the Chief Minister lauded the artisans whose craftsmanship continues to define the identity of Kashmir across the world. This calendar is more than a collection of images; it is a symbol of gratitude to our craftspersons who keep alive the spirit of our heritage through their golden hands.

The 2026 calendar showcases an exquisite range of traditional crafts, including Namda,Kani shawl,Papier-mâché, Wood carving, Sozni embroidery, Carpet weaving, Wagguv, Copperware ect ,each frame narrating the story of skill passed down through generations.

The event underlined the government’s commitment to promoting and preserving Kashmir’s handicrafts sector by providing sustained support and recognition to the artisans who continue to enrich the region’s cultural tapestry.
