36 medical centers have been identified across the valley, including Srinagar, for the anti-corona vaccination campaign starting on January 16.
The health department has set up 14 centers in hospitals across the valley. While a large number of vaccination centers have been set up in 8 major hospitals under Srinagar Medical College and two hospitals of Medical Institute Soura.
Arrangements for corona vaccination in government hospitals across the valley have been finalized. The centers set up by the government for corona vaccine in hospitals operating under the Health Department include two at Rainawari and Gousia Hospitals in Srinagar, two in Anantnag, one in Baramulla, two in Ganderbal and one in Pulwama has been approved to set up vaccination centers.
While as one in Shopian, one in Kulgam, one in Kupwara, one in Bandipora and two in Budgam have also been set up.
Apart from 8 government hospitals operating under GMC Srinagar, JVC Bemna and SKIMS Soura, Arrangements at other places have also been made for the campaign.
Dr. Iqbal Pandit, Nodal Officer for Anti-Corona Vaccination at GMC Srinagar, told that apart from GMC Medical College, three vaccination points have been set up at Srinagar. He said that apart from this, Government Medical College, Arrangements have been made at Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla, CD Hospital Dalgate, Kashmir Valley Nursing Home, Super Specialty Hospital Sherin Bagh and other hospitals.
3 vaccination points have been set up for 1800 health workers at SKIMS Medical College Bemina
“1800 health workers, including faculty members, senior residents, junior residents, postgraduate and MBBS students as well as paramedics, cleaners and security personnel will get first vaccination”Dr Riyaz Ahmed , principal of JVC Bemina, said.
He added that apart from 3 points for vaccination, waiting room and other facilities have also been arranged. Eight vaccination points have been set up at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura for 4,000 medical staff including faculty members, senior residents, junior residents, postgraduates and MBBS students.
Besides arranging waiting rooms and other facilities. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the vaccinators through video conferencing in SKIMS Soura,” he said.
The central government will sent a message of vaccination date to health workers across India through Co-win aap and health workers will be vaccinated on the scheduled date.
