Budgam,July 19: In a suit filed by Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen Shah, the Hon’ble Court of Munsiff Budgam has passed an interim order restraining the defendant, Sandeep Mawa, from publishing or circulating any defamatory, scandalous, or derogatory content through digital or print media platforms.

The order specifically prohibits the defendant from uploading, sharing, or disseminating such content via Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, Instagram, or any other electronic or digital platform, particularly content that relates to the subject matter of the suit or is similar in nature to material already circulated on 04.07.2025 and 09.07.2025.

The Court has further directed the defendant to immediately restrict the privacy settings of previously uploaded material to “Only Me” to prevent further dissemination until the matter is taken up for full consideration.

Speaking on behalf of the plaintiff, Advocate Arif Shah stated that “the order reinforces the principle that no individual—regardless of position or background—should be subjected to public defamation without lawful justification. The law provides remedies against such conduct, and courts are empowered to act swiftly to prevent reputational harm in the digital age.”

The matter is now listed for consideration of interim relief after the appearance of the defendant.
