Five more have been tested positive for COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir; among them three are from Kashmir and two from Jammu.
The government’s spokesperson, Rohit Kansal, confirmed that the tally of the Union Territory rose to 278. “Fourteen recoveries [of COVID-19 positive patients have been reported] from Kashmir,” he said.
Kansal also added that all educational institutes will continue to remain close.
Earlier today, Dr. Naveed Shah, who is the Head of Department at Chest Disease Hospital Srinagar, said that at least thirteen recovered patients were discharged from the hospital.
Yesterday, twenty-five people had tested positive in Kashmir division; nine among them were from Bandipora, three each from Srinagar and Baramulla, one from Kulgam district while remaining twelve are non-locals who had been kept in quarantine by the Srinagar administration from 27 March.
In India, the cases of COVID-19 have crossed the 10,000 mark, while at least 339 people have died due to the diesease. ( KW )
