Delhi CM’s daughter gets cheated while selling sofa online : How this scam works

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s daughter registered a police complaint after she allegedly lost Rs 34,000 to scammers while trying to sell a sofa set on OLX. This is one of the most common types of scams in India and has been going on for a few years. The Delhi CM’s daughter lost money as she fell for the wrong QR code for payment. Instead of getting money for selling the sofa in her account, she lost money.

What’s important is that this is not a cybersecurity scam. It’s simply a trick to fool people. The lack of understanding of new app-based payment services and UPI among the general public is helping fraudsters to make a quick buck.
