The event aimed to highlight the interdependence of human, animal, and environmental health and to promote a unified, collaborative approach to global well-being.

Head of the Department of Community Medicine, Prof. Anjum Fazili; Associate Professor and Nodal Officer One Health, Dr. Shamila Hamid; Principal, Madr-e-Meherban Institute of Nursing Science and Research, Prof. Mohd. Maqbool Wani; and Principal, Paramedical College, Prof. Mudassir Jan, were present at the flag-off. Participants proceeded through the SKIMS campus, concluding the walk at the Nursing College.

Approximately 181 participants—including MBBS interns, postgraduate scholars, senior residents, and faculty of the Department of Community Medicine, as well as B.Sc. and M.Sc. students and faculty from the Nursing and Paramedical Colleges—took part, demonstrating strong multidisciplinary engagement. Placards, banners, and slogans underscored the message of integrated action against public health challenges.

The walk concluded with an interactive session at the Nursing College, where faculty emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration between medical, veterinary, and environmental sectors to advance the One Health mission.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and reaffirmed SKIMS’ commitment to promoting the “One World, One Health” vision as a strategic response to emerging and future public health challenges.
