Distt Admin committed to save youth from Drug & Evil traps: DC Bandipora

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel-ul Rehman today reassured the District Administration’s commitment to provide all the ways and means to save youth from the drug and other evil traps, and engage them in different sports activities alongside their academic pursuits.

This was stated by the DC during the opening ceremony of District Level Rugby Championship held at Government Higher Secondary School Nadihal.

The championship is being organized by Bandipora Rugby Association in collaboration with the School Education Department. A total of 34 teams under the age group of 14, 17 and 19 from various Education Zones are participating in the tournament that shall conclude on Wednesday.

Chief Education Officer Bandipora, Dr. G M Pujoo, Chief Horticulture Officer, and Padma Shree Awardee Faisal Ali were also present on the occasion.

The DC while interacting with the players urged them to engage themselves in sports activities and alongside their academic pursuits.

He expressed satisfaction about youth excelling in sports and said an able mind needs an able body to realise the dreams of thought process. He asked the Chief Education Officer to closely monitor the working of the physical education teachers and masters so that the talent of youth receives the proper direction and guidance.

Our youth has immense potential that needs to be polished at the right time in the right manner, he added.
