JAMMU, APRIL 07 2020

On the directions of Secretary District Legal Services Authority Naushad Ahmed Khan, Advocate Leena Devi, Panel Lawyer and Advocate Deepali Arora, Retainer Lawyer of DLSA today visited District Jail Amphalla in presence of SP Salim Beig and Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu in presence SSP Dinesh Sharma to collect data of the prisoners lodged therein who are eligible for their release as per the criteria/parameters laid down for their consideration of bails/interim bails, in compliance with the High Power Committee’s directions and in granting them help from the concerned Courts, where they are facing trials and to assist the jail authorities for expediting their cases.

Jail authorities apprised the visiting advocates that the main hurdle in the release of these eligible prisoners on parole is that their families are unable to furnish the surety bond in the Court of the Executive Magistrate due to the restrictions on their entry in the premises of Deputy Commissioner, Jammu.
