DPC meet after 1.5 years: 22 get promotion in Tourism Kashmir

Srinagar, Apr 12 : The Directorate of Tourism, Kashmir, on Sunday convened a meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) after a gap of over one-and-a-half years, officials said.

The meeting, chaired by Director Tourism Kashmir, Syed Qamar Sajjad, along with other senior officers, approved the promotion of 22 employees across various class and category posts after due deliberations as per service rules, they said.

“The Chairman reviewed the cases of eligible employees and, in accordance with established norms, accorded approval for promotions,” officials said.

The long-pending decision was welcomed by the departmental employees, who described the move as a “morale booster”. They expressed gratitude to the administration for addressing promotional issues, saying timely career progression enhances efficiency and service delivery.

The department reiterated its commitment to transparency and fairness, emphasising that such initiatives are vital for strengthening institutional efficiency and maintaining a motivated workforce the official further added. (KNS)
