Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah on Friday greeted people on the auspicious occasion of birthday of Shri Guru Hargobind.
Greeting people especially the Sikh brethren on the auspicious eve, Party President said, “Guru Hargobind Ji continued to kindle the spirit of love, brotherhood and equality inflamed by Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. An Apostle of peace, he stood against the scourge of caste division, and religious discrimination. He voiced for the oppressed and underprivileged. I greet people especially our Sikh Brethren on the observance of the birthday of the revered Guru Ji. May the day increase the prospects of peace and brotherhood in J&K and further the cause of camaraderie.”
Among others Party Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, district president Baramulla Javaid Dar, Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar and Minority wing organizer J S Azad have also extended warm greetings to people praying for their wellbeing and peace to the entire humankind.
Meanwhile Party President visited the residence of Party’s Member of Parliament Muhammad Akbar Lone to pass on good wishes to him and his family on the release of his son Hilal Lone, who was released the other day subsequent to quashing of PSA on him after facing incarceration for over ten months. Party president was accompanied by Additional general secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustufa Kamal, Provincial Secretary Showkat Ahmed Mir, YNC Provincial President Salman Ali Sagar and others. Later Party President visited the residence of party’s senior Leader Ramzan Choudhary to enquire about his well being.
In the meantime senior Party Leader Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan has expressed happiness on the release of Hilal Lone, saying the measure has come as a big respite to his family, friends and associates. Among others North Zone Vice President Dr Sajad Shafi Uri; Kafil Ur Rahman, Qaiser Jamsheed Lone have also expressed contentment over the release of Hilal Lone. The functionaries said that there can be no redemption until all the detainees languishing in jails inside and outside J&k are set free.
