Srinagar police solves burglary case within 5 hours Accused arrested, stolen property worth lakhs recovered: Police

Police Station Rajbagh received an information to the effect that a burglary has occurred at Masjid-e-Jamia Ahle-Hadees Gogjibagh.

Based on this information, Case FIR No. 44/2020 U/S 454, 380 IPC, was registered at P/S Rajbagh and investigation set into motion.

Srinagar police under the supervision of SSP Srinagar, in its endeavours to ensure a crime free society, directed to constitute a team led SDPO Sadder and SHO Rajbagh.

Taking the advantage of technical evidences collected and other reliable sources, suspect namely Imran Naseer Beigh S/O Naseer Ahmad Beigh R/O Hawal Badamwari, Srinagar was pinned in within just 5 hours and detained.

The suspect during sustained interrogation and questioning confessed his involvement in the commission of the offence. On the disclosure of the accused 15 stolen inverter batteries, worth more than 3.5 Lakh rupees were recovered.

Further questioning revealed that he is also involved in similar crimes at other religious places as well, the details of which are being ascertained and further recoveries are expected.

Locals have hailed the prompt response from the Srinagar Police.
