Pulwama, May 19: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday said that drugs are not only destroying the lives of youth and tearing apart families, but are also being used to fund terrorism, asserting that the entire narcotics network must be dismantled collectively.

Speaking after leading a padyatra in Pulwama under the Nasha Mukht J&K Abhiyan, the Lieutenant Governor said the administration is committed to eliminating the menace of drug trafficking from Jammu and Kashmir.

“Drugs are not only destroying the lives of youth and tearing apart families, but are also funding terrorism.

We must unite to dismantle this entire network. I assure the people that drug peddlers and smugglers will be eradicated,” he said.

The Lieutenant Governor urged people, especially the youth, to actively participate in the anti-drug campaign and support the efforts of the administration and law enforcement agencies in making Jammu and Kashmir drug-free.

The padyatra witnessed participation from officials, students, civil society members and local residents, who pledged support for the fight against narcotics abuse and trafficking.
