ELFA International and Sun Pharma Inaugurate Electrician Skill Training Center in Samba

Samba, December 13, 2025:


In a significant initiative aimed at strengthening youth employability and promoting skill-based livelihoods, ELFA International, in partnership with Sun Pharma under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, today inaugurated the Electrician Skill Training Centre at Panchayat Ghar Sarain, Nud, Samba. The centre was formally inaugurated by Ms. Ayushi Sudan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Samba, marking an important milestone in the district’s skill development efforts.

The training centre is designed to equip local youth with industry-relevant electrical skills, thereby enhancing employment prospects and encouraging self-reliance among unemployed and underemployed sections of society.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Ms. Ayushi Sudan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Samba, as the Chief Guest. Guests of Honour included Mr. Ajay Bharti (JKAS), Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Samba, and Mr. Nawab Mehran Khan, Chief Executive Officer, ELFA International. Senior representatives from Sun Pharma present on the occasion included Mr. Kamlesh Devikar, HR Head, and Ms. Priyanka Talwar, CSR Head. Other dignitaries comprised the Tehsildar, Block Development Officer (BDO), Sarpanch, senior district officials, community representatives, and prospective beneficiaries.

Addressing the gathering, Ms. Ayushi Sudan, IAS, appreciated the collaborative efforts of ELFA International and Sun Pharma in creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for the youth of Samba. She emphasized that skill development initiatives such as electrician training are critical in bridging the gap between education and employment, and commended ELFA International for its consistent grassroots engagement in the district. She urged the trainees to fully utilize the opportunity to build dignified and productive careers.

Mr. Kamlesh Devikar, HR Head, Sun Pharma highlighted the growing importance of vocational and demand-driven skills in rural and semi-urban areas. He noted that electrical trades offer strong potential for wage employment as well as entrepreneurship, and praised ELFA International for aligning its programmes with local employment needs and development priorities.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Nawab Mehran Khan, CEO, ELFA International, outlined the organization’s long-standing commitment to employment generation and skill development in Samba district. He stated that ELFA International has been actively working across sectors such as vocational training, livelihood promotion, healthcare support, and youth leadership development. The Electrician Skill Training Centre, he added, will provide hands-on technical training, safety education, and practical exposure, enabling trainees to secure jobs or establish their own electrical service units.

Mr. Khan also acknowledged the support of Sun Pharma for investing in community-centric development initiatives and reaffirmed ELFA International’s commitment to ensuring quality training, industry linkage, and post-training placement and self-employment support.

The speakers unanimously praised ELFA International for its transparent implementation, strong community connect, and measurable impact on the ground, describing the initiative as a model CSR intervention that effectively integrates corporate responsibility with local development needs.

The Electrician Skill Training Centre is expected to benefit a significant number of unemployed youth from Samba and surrounding areas, contributing to economic empowerment and regional growth.

The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by Ms. Priyanka Talwar, CSR Head, Sun Pharma
