A former Hizbul Mujahideen militant has been arrested after a 19-year-long search in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district.
He said Dulla alias Jameel, a resident of Arnas village in Reasi, was the third ex-militant arrested by the police in Kishtwar in the last 11 days.
A police spokesman said that on specific information, the special police team raided various suspicious places and arrested Dulla, who was presently in Kundwar village of Chataroo area.
He said Dulla was wanted in a case related to terrorism at Chatru police station in 2002 but was evading arrest.
He was produced in a local court from where he was remanded to judicial custody, the spokesman said.
Earlier, two ex-militants who were absconding-Nazeer Ahmed and Abdul Ghani alias “Mawiya” of Budhar-Bonjwah were arrested on September 15 and 17 respectively after a long search of 12 years and 19 years.
