Forest department officials seize illicit timber loaded on horses in Mawer Kupwara

Forest department officials seized illicit timber loaded on two horses in mawer near Tulwari Shanoo Village of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district here on Friday.

According to sources, forest department officials laid a naka in Langate forest division at Shanno Tulwari near stone crusher in Mawer.

The officials intercepted two horses loaded with illicit timber and seized 10 Cfts of timber and two horses that were used for the transportation of the same were seized while the smuglar fled from the spot.

An forest department official confirmed the incident and said further investigation has been initiated in this regard.
