Omar Abdullah’s remarks reflect his strong opposition to the BJP’s manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections, suggesting it is aimed at the “destruction” of Jammu and Kashmir. He accuses the BJP of consistently bringing harm to the region through its manifestoes. Abdullah also expresses confidence in the INDIA bloc winning all five Lok Sabha constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir and one in Ladakh.

Regarding the seat-sharing agreement between the INDIA partners, Abdullah outlines that the Congress will contest certain constituencies while the National Conference will contest others.

He emphasizes that there is still hope for the restoration of Article 370, highlighting the support of like-minded parties such as the DMK and TMC on this issue.

The BJP’s manifesto, ‘Sankalp Patra,’ includes promises such as implementing the Union Civil Code (UCC) and bringing lasting peace to the Northeast.

The context of the state of Jammu and Kashmir being split into two Union Territories following the revocation of Article 370 in October 2019 is provided, along with the BJP’s success in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls in the region.

The article also mentions the upcoming polling schedule for Jammu and Kashmir in the first five phases of the elections.
