March 22, 2025 – Foundation World School celebrated the Spring Equinox with a Plantation Drive, reinforcing its commitment to environmental stewardship. The initiative engaged students from Grades 8 to 12, fostering a deep appreciation for nature and sustainability.
The plantation drive took place in both the boys’ and girls’ sections of the campus. Students in the girls’ section planted red pear and pine horn trees, while those in the boys’ section planted plum and almond trees. These species were carefully selected to enhance campus biodiversity and contribute to long-term ecological balance.
Beyond tree planting, students were encouraged to reflect on the ecological and spiritual significance of their efforts. The event integrated Islamic teachings that emphasize the virtues and rewards of planting trees, reinforcing the ethical and moral responsibility of caring for the Earth.
This initiative aligns with Foundation World School’s dedication to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Climate Action (SDG 13), Life on Land (SDG 15), and Sustainable Communities (SDG 11). By actively engaging in environmental conservation, students not only contributed to a greener campus but also gained valuable insights into their role in addressing global environmental challenges.
The Plantation Drive exemplified the school’s commitment to experiential learning, integrating academics with hands-on environmental action. As these trees take root and flourish, they will stand as a lasting symbol of the students’ dedication to a healthier planet and a more sustainable future.
