Islamic University of Science of Technology (IUST), Awantipora has suspended four students over the last week spray attack on female students of the MBA department.

Vice Chancellor IUST, Awantipora Prof. Mushtaq Siddiqi told  on Wednesday that four students of the MBA department have been suspended for their alleged role into the October 25 spray attack.

The varsity authorities had constituted a committee to probe the incident. “Four students have been barred from entering the varsity. The investigation is going on,” said Prof Siddiqi.

Pertinently, eight students of the varsity had fainted after the spray attack that took place as they were waiting for their post-lunch classes. The girl students were shifted to SKIMS for treatment.

The attack took place last week when the Valley was grappling with mysterious braid-chopping incidents.
