Srinagar September 21 Halting of fruit laden trucks on National Highway is a matter of grave concern for Kashmir fruit industry. Fruit growers have undergone tremendous losses during last few years. Govt must come clean on halting of trucks. Former J&K Pradesh Congress Committee Ghulam Ahmad Mir made these comments here in Srinagar today after taking notice of the losses confronting growers. Mir said this is very shameful act that despite hue and cry by the growers, Govt is not serious about the losses they (growers)are suffering due to the halting of fruit laden trucks on National Highway leading to the heavy losses to Kashmir fruit industry. Former JKPCC President asked LG J&K to intervene and exhibit his concern for the fruit industry of Kashmir, who have equally suffered heavily like other sectors in Kashmir due to the disturbing situations. I would urge upon Govt of India to take serious note of halting of Trucks and issue directions for ensuring hassle-free movement on NH, so that the trucks reach their destinations at fixed time, Mir added. Former JKPCC President also said that Congress Party will fight against such anti people measures. JKPCC President also demanded compensation to those who have suffering losses due to halting of fruit laden trucks on NH.
